If you would like to train and compete as well, no problem. PAMA travels too many grappling tournaments such as US Grappling, where our academy typically places in the top 3 overall team points. All of our classes are safe and informative, and all of our students are courteous and helpful. Not only will our students be given in-depth knowledge of BJJ, but they will be thoroughly conditioned and learn how to use leverage and positioning to their advantage.
Muay Thai Kickboxing
Muay Thai or "Thai Boxing" is a martial art that has a long history in Thailand. Modern Muay Thai uses kicks and punches with gloves similar to those used in western boxing. Muay Thai is referred to as "The Science of Eight Limbs", as the hands, feet, elbows, and knees are all used extensively in this art of fighting. There are two versions of Muay Thai: the Thai style and the Dutch style. Muay Thai at PAMA is taught using both the Dutch style and the traditional Thai methods. The basic offensive techniques in Muay Thai use fists, elbows, shins, feet, and knees to strike the opponent. To bind the opponent for both offensive and defensive purposes, small amounts of stand-up grappling are used by clinching. The clinch is applied by holding the opponent either around the neck or around the body. "Pendergrass Academy was recommended by a friend for my 15 year old son who is just getting started.
