Muay Thai Kickboxing
Muay Thai or "Thai Boxing" is a martial art that has a long history in Thailand. Modern Muay Thai uses kicks and punches with gloves similar to those used in western boxing. Muay Thai is referred to as "The Science of Eight Limbs", as the hands, feet, elbows, and knees are all used extensively in this art of fighting. There are two versions of Muay Thai: the Thai style and the Dutch style. Muay Thai at PAMA is taught using both the Dutch style and the traditional Thai methods. The basic offensive techniques in Muay Thai use fists, elbows, shins, feet, and knees to strike the opponent. To bind the opponent for both offensive and defensive purposes, small amounts of stand-up grappling are used by clinching. The clinch is applied by holding the opponent either around the neck or around the body. The Muay Thai class at PAMA promotes conditioning through physical calisthenics that increase health, flexibility and general cardiovascular strength. The exercise one gets from martial arts training improves balance, flexibility, stamina, posture and self confidence. Click Here To Get Started
