"Training at PAMA is one of the best decisions i have ever made. The
instruction given by Rob and Guy is second to none. They have gotten me
in the best shape of my life (at 30 ys) and it has actually been fun
doing so! I have been involved in many different sports and have finally
found one that I will continue for for years to come. I think of
everyone at PAMA as a second family."

"I have 2 boys in the Jiu-Jitsu class
and I have particularly noticed an increase in confidence in both boys.
I home school them so it is important for them to be around other
children their age. The classes are very closely monitored while
they are grappling and and all grappling ends with a slap on the hand
and a good positive attitude. We all have been very well pleased."

"I started the BJJ class to lose some
weight and thought since I wrestled and had taken Judo in the past it
would be a good way to get back in shape - I am happy and surprised to
say that I started at 230lbs and now weigh 203 with a goal of getting to
195 in the next couple
of months and hope to compete at that weight. Guy & Rob run a great
program!",

"I trained in
different stand up/striking arts in the past and wanted to focus on my
grappling skills. After doing lots of research on schools in the area
the choice was simple for me. Pendergrass Academy offers topnotch BJJ
and MMA classes in a non-intimidating environment. Since the first visit
to the school I felt like I belonged and I truly look forward to
training each week. I would encourage anyone, whether beginner or
experienced, to checkout Pendergrass Academy.", Jarrod Rotella -

"I have trained in BJJ before. I trained
at a place where the instructor was great but the atmosphere was pretty
intimidating. A lot of people there had the "train like you are in a
fistfight" mentality that made it pretty difficult to train without fear
of injury, which hindered my progress to the point that I could not go
anymore. (To their credit, there were a few people who were not like
this and I learned a lot from them.) The moment I stepped foot on the mats at PAMA, I felt welcomed and the
atmosphere was fun. There were no spazzes trying to break you in
two and no ego tripping. I wish I came here in the first place. I
have learned a lot my first week here and they were open to showing me
special things that would work for a pretty inflexible person like
myself. Their training is top-notch, the students are great, the
pay plan is perfect and I feel like I am progressing in this art for the
first time in my life. I plan on training under them exclusively to
black belt and beyond.
If you are looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, non intimidating
environment, I would highly recommend them."

"I enjoy the atmosphere, the learning environment, & especially the
attention to detail. The little things can really make or break a
particular sweep or position. I like the hands-on instruction you guys
do, breaking down the move in steps, and pointing out all the details
that make a particular move successful."

"Although I have only
attended 2 weeks at Pendergrass Academy of Martial Arts I have noticed a
difference in flexibility, change in workout routine, increased
knowledge of BJJ, and the opportunity to meet new people. Since I know
that flexibility is important in BJJ I have started stretching every
morning and night. BJJ is mostly technique, but overall body strength
does help, so I have altered my regular workout to benefit BJJ. I have
also learned new techniques in BJJ, which in turn gives me a boost in
self-confidence. Every new move gives me inspiration to come back and
learn more. It is like anything you do, every time you accomplish
something new, it gives you that feeling to make you want to learn more.
I get to know the people in the class better in every session that I
attend and in turn make new friends. The school, teachers and students,
have been very accepting to me as a newcomer (not making me feel less
than them or look down on me). If anything - everyone has been happy to
see more people attend the school and make it a point to help me when
they see something I can improve on. The atmosphere of the school is
lighthearted and fun, but still down to business in learning BJJ. I have
and will recommend the school to anyone interested in martial arts.",

"The quality of instruction is top notch, and the techniques and variations are consistent between Guy and Rob, which aids learning for me. I’ve never felt stupid for asking stupid questions, and both Rob and Guy take time to answer questions patiently and thoroughly. They both give everyone personal attention, offering advice and correcting technique throughout the class. They are both personable and likeable, and have great reputations around the Triangle."

"Since starting at the Pendergrass Academy I've gotten stronger and my
flexibility has improved drastically. BJJ has also taught me a good bit
about body control and balance. I have found everyone at PAMA that has
stuck around for any period of time to be a good person and it makes for
a great training environment. I like that we not only train together,
but I have made friends that I invite over to my house to watch UFC
fights, cook out, or go to other events with me. The trainers have
great hands on experience and can answer any questions that may come up
in a class. I personally enjoy learning from both Rob and Guy because
they have a similar stature to mine and can make recommendations with
what has worked for them and what may work for me."

" The Pendergrass Academy
has been a great place to improve my BJJ training, make new friends, and
expand my network of training partners. I have made significant
improvements in my technical skills as well as in practical application.
Rob and Guy are both excellent instructors, very approachable, and
always willing to help students. Its a great place to train!"

"The atmosphere is relaxed and encourages learning. I have always left class feeling better for having attended both physically and mentally. The classes have motivated me to work out more at home knowing I want to continue with training. The boxing class has been excellent as well and I look forward to trying
the MMA class . Thank you both for running such a positive school."
