Counter to the Kimura Defense
In this quick pictorial, Professor Guy and Professor Boo demonstrate a counter to the kimura defense.
Pics #3 & #4: As he steps around, Prof. Guy will start to drive boo’s wrist into his hips, (Pic #4) extending his arms.
Pics #5, #6 & #7: You can either settle into the crucifix position or (pic #6) you can scissor your legs and start to attack from this position (pic #7).
When you have the kimura from the bottom and your opponent defends as well as passes, instead of giving them the armbar be mindful of where their wrist placement is. Remember to extend your arms to prevent them from going to the armbar. For greater detail check out our YouTube video:
