How to Transition from Half Guard to the Back
Anytime your opponent has an underhook and is halfway to your back you want to slow him down. To do this, you will do a small Whizzer and grab his collar with four fingers. Then pull his lapel out. By pressing his lapel toward the mat, you’re keeping him from coming up on his elbow and building a solid base. While you have his lapel you’ll pass it to the other hand and flatten your opponent out.
